What is a receding chin?

Receding chin or its length being too short is not visually well defined from neck.

Standard of beautiful jaw line

1. Chin is located in 3 mm within the line that is

4. Combination of Receding Chin and Protruding Mouth

Correction involves teeth removal

and receding chin surgery to push in protruding mouth and pull out chin forward.

Receding chin correction is divided into 3 types

based on surgical methods and materials used for surgery.

1. Receding Chin Correction with Implant Insertion

It is the method using implant insertion to correct receding chin.

Implant selected from various sizes and shapes is cut and refined to fit individual’s bone shape. Silicone and Gore-Tex are commonly used for implant materials.

2. Sliding Osteotomy Genioplasty

Because the implant inserted for severely receding chin can cause unnecessary muscle contraction, entire jaw bone should be cut horizontally and slid forward. In this way, chin after surgery looks natural forming a beautiful neck line as well.

3. Receding Chin Correction by Fat Grafting

It is to harvest fat from body areas where excess fat is stored such as thighs and hips and graft onto your receding chin line in multiple layers. This method is also known for body contouring effect since the procedure grafts unnecessary fat from your own body.
